Wanderful with Deconstructed Sketches

Image
Close To My Heart has many great themed paper packs but they are also very versatile  For instance - take a look at Wanderful. This is a paper pack people may look at and think it is only good for traveling/vacation themes.   With this card I created, you can see that this is definitely not the case!  I used the back side of the traveling themed paper to create this pretty card with flowers! This card features one of Close To My Heart's newest colors - Flaxen.  I used  Have a Happy Day stamp for my sentiment and flowers.  The flowers are stamped in Gypsy and Crystal Blue, the leaves in Flaxen.  The ribbon is another new product - Thistle Diagonal Striped Ribbon. Products used for this card: Deconstructed Sketches: You can find all of these products on my website at www.stampinheaven.ctmh.com If you are local to me, stop by my Open House on Saturday, September 6 between 9am and 1pm.  You can see the new produc...

Happy Father's Day!

Image
Happy Father's Day!  Today I'm sharing a card I made for my dad.  The Timberline paper makes the perfect Father's Day cards! I used the sketch from Deconstructed Sketches for my card.  If you are ever in need of a good sketch to use, head over to Deconstructing Jen 's blog.  I always love all her sketches! I used the "You're the Best" (C1571) stampset with Ponderosa Pine for my sentiment and added some Hemp Baker's Twine and a wooden button I found in my stash. Deconstructed Sketches Thanks for stopping by!

Sneak Peek - Ariana

Image
Quick post here.  I wanted to share a card I created using the new Ariana paper pack. This is beautiful paper which makes for beautiful cards and layouts. I kept this 5x7 card fairly simple using the big rose from the Ariana Complements as my focal point.   The White Daisy Cardstock was cut using the Artiste Cricut Cartridge - <Card> x.   It was a little longer in length than I wanted to so I cut it to shorten the length and then used a zip strip to cover up the seam.  Those zip strips sure come in handy!!   The sentiment is from the new stamp set - Greatest Love .  My accents are the new Black and Grey Epoxy Bubbles.   The sketch I used for my card is from Deconstructed Sketch #136 . You can see this card and more at my Open House this Saturday - February 8th.   Stop by between 9am and 1pm!    2722 Lascassas Pike - Murfreesboro, TN New Products used for this card. Peace and Joy

Image
I didn't do anything creative yesterday.  Instead I went shopping.  Gasp! I really don't like shopping much anymore.  I left the house at 8:30am to get to one of my favorite stores that was having a sale - and if you got there before 10 am you got a $10 gift card.  I needed a few new clothes - mine seem to have all shrunk.  So I hit the sale and then I met up with a friend to do more shopping at the annual Hollydays Market Place.  It was fun but by 2:00 we were shopped out (we are pathetic shoppers). So I headed home to take a much needed nap.  I was so worn out and my feet were aching I couldn't even get myself to my scrap room to do anything. This afternoon, I did make it to my scrap room armed with a bunch of challenges I wanted to give a shot at.  I was really inspired by the photo on the Inspired By Challenge and decided to combine it with the Deconstructed Sketch.   The stamp set I used is sold exclusively with the Frosted Cardmaking ...

Sneak Peak of Dream Pop

Image
Next month is National Scrapbooking Month and Close To My Heart always has an AWESOME paper pack to celebrate.  Close To My Heart consultants get a one month preview BEFORE the paper is released. (Just one of the perks to being a consultant!) I absolutely LOVE this paper!  The colors are vibrant and right on trend.   I couldn't wait to play with it.  But, I had to wait a bit due to a busy softball schedule. I spent Thursday through VERY late last night at a softball tournament.  I'm happy to say, my daughter's team won the Championship!  It took me a while to get going today.  (I'm still feeling effects of the windy weather and loud screaming that I did! I nearly lost my voice!) I combined the colors from Playdate Cafe with Sketch #98 from Deconstructed Sketches for this card -  Hopefully this large picture shows the resist that is on the cardstock included in this paper pack.  There are 6 different colors (2 each) of cardstock e...

Deconstructing New Horizons

Image
I almost forgot about this card I created the other night. I was looking through challenges this morning on the hunt for some inspiration and I came across the Deconstructed Sketch blog. The sketch was posted on Thursday and when I saw it, I thought it would be perfect for the our new Tommy paper.   It was about 9 pm when I finally got around to creating the idea I had in my head all day! Here is the sketch:                                      And my interpretation: This card could be used for someone graduating, moving, starting a new job or even someone retiring!  It was very fast and easy to create - no stamping at all on this card!  The sentiment "New Horizons" is from the zip strip from one of the B&T papers in the Tommy paper pack. RECIPE: Tommy Paper Pack (X7169B) Natural Hemp (Z280) Chevron Ribbon (Z1808) Red Buttons (from retired Holiday...

Sneak Peak of Buzz and Bumble

Image
One of the BEST things about being a Close To My Heart consultant is that we get a one month preview for the new products to be released in February.  I received my shipment of new products yesterday and was up late last night trying to get everything organized before I started playing.  The first thing I wanted to play with was the new Buzz & Bumble kit.  I just love that name!   I ordered the Workshop On the Go Kit which comes with some REALLY cute matching accents - little wooden bees. flowers and wax seals (not really wax but they sure look real!)..  Our Workshop On the Go Kits include an exclusive D-size stamp, instruction brochure, 6 B&T pattern papers, and 8 sheets of cardstock and coordinating embellishments.  After I created the 2 layouts for the kit I had plenty of paper left over to create even more. I love this week's Friday Mashup Challenge and thought Buzz & Bumble was perfect for it!  The challenge was to make a proj...
