A Happy Day Means Ice Cream!

Image
I'm loving July's Stamp of the Month - Ice Cream Dream.  Not only is it fun to color but it sure brings back many memories growing up.   I LOVE ice cream although I can't eat it as much as I wish.  Oh, I COULD eat it everyday but my hips would be as big as that truck on this cute little stamp!  My love for ice cream goes all the way back to the days I'd spend with my grandmother.  If we were going to my grandmother's house, then we knew for sure that meant ice cream for dessert!  That tradition has carried on down through the generations.  My daughters knew that anytime they went to their Monie and Pa's (my Mom and Dad) house - that meant Ice Cream!   The girls recently moved into a place of their own and I heard them commenting that the nearby grocery store had even MORE flavors of Ben & Jerry's ice cream than the one that was close to my house!  That's a big deal! Ice Cream - it's always fun no matter how you serve it - in a bowl, on ...

Image
Welcome to the June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring  Ice Cream Dream ,  a set of 7 stamps. If you have come here from Cat Nowak's Blog , you  are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's  HERE . How fun it is to have an Ice Cream themed stamp for June!  I couldn't WAIT to create with this set.  This stamp set was calling out for ShinHan Touch Twin Markers to me.   I paired them with the fun Confetti paper for my card. I added Purple Shimmer Trim and pink Flamingo Dots to accent the card.  Also, to make it even more fun I added Liquid Glass to the windows of the Ice Cream Truck!   If you haven't had a chance to try out our new ShinHan Touch Twin markers, you can do so in my next Technique Tuesday Class!  Be sure to check out my Upcoming Event...

More Blossoms

Image
I'm still playing with my Blossom Cardmaking WOTG kit.  The papers are so pretty!!  This time I used another new stamp - Wavy Blooms (D1651) with the leftover papers that I have. I stamped the images with Versa Mark ink and embossed them in white.  I used my ShinHan Touch Twin markers to color the flowers.  The sentiment is from the stamp set that is included with the kit. I added our new washi tape - a strip of Glacier and Pear from the new washi pack - Boardwalk .  New white sequins from the Coral Reef Sequins add a finished look to the card. All of these new products will be available on April 1! I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for my card design.

A Little Note

Image
Who is ready for spring?  I know I am!!  I believe this is the 4th time I've worked from home due to icy road conditions here in Tennessee.   I'm not sure about tomorrow.  Although it started melting some this afternoon, with temperatures no higher than low teens tonight, it will all just freeze back. After I shut my work laptop down for the day I was in the mood to create something with color - something to make me think of Spring.   So my little daffodil stamp set was just the thing.   These pretty little flowers are some of the first ones to poke through after the hard winter.  I LOVE daffodils. This card is very simple.  I stamped the image in black and then used my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers to color.  I layered it onto Topiary Cardstock.   To keep a clean and simple look, I used a journaling pen to draw a line around the edge.   I used Topiary washi tape for my pennants on the side. ShinHan Touch Twin Marker Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to our ShinHan Touch Twin Marker Blog Hop!  This hop is featuring artwork created with the brand new ShinHan Touch Twin  markers from Close To My Heart.     If you have come here from Michelle Loncar's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE . I used one of my favorite stamp sets for this blog hop - Rainy Day (Z1597)  .  I'm certainly not a coloring expert but I have to say, that coloring with the new ShinHan Touch Twin markers is so easy! I only used 2 colors on this card - Cerulean Blue Light Marker (Z2449) and Pastel Green (Z2459) . I used the Sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping for my card. Now it is time to hop on over to Heather Schmuckal's blog and see what she has to share!

Make It Merry

Image
When I saw the Merry Monday Challenge - "Use some type of vehicle or transportation on a Christmas Card", I couldn't wait to use my new Make It Merry stamp set!  This stamp has the cutest little motor scooter on it!  I used the turned the sketch from Mojo Monday  sideways to create my card. I stamped the scooter with Black ink and then again in Cranberry.  I cut out the cranberry pieces and applied them to my scooter.   I still felt like the scooter was plain so I colored it in using the ShinHan Touch Twin Turquoise Blue Marker  using the Colorless Blending Pen to lighten it up a bit.  Now my scooter was ready to haul some Christmas goodies!  I used Glacier ink to stamp the tree and colored the ribbon blending the ShinHan Touch Twin markers of Carmine and Clay to give more of a cranberry color to the ribbon.    Mojo Monday Sketch:

Everything is Better With a Friend

Image
Have you ever just dropped everything on your busy schedule, moved things around and made time for just hanging out with your friends?  I did that just last Friday.  Even though I had just come back from a week's vacation and had been trying to get caught up at work, when I received an email from one of my friends that said "come and hang out" - I did just that.   I have a close group of friends - some I work with, some work at the same place but I only see occasionally and then some friends I that I used to work with but they have moved on to other jobs.   Over the years, we have always stayed in touch.  We try to get together for lunch when we can (and not everyone can always make it) but we ALWAYS get together once a year for our annual cookie Swap. So, when the "Come hang out at my pool" invite came, we all dropped what we were doing and went!  Hard to turn down a pool day with this 90 plus degree weather accompanied by high humidity.   We hung o...

Pathfinding with Freshly Made Sketches

Image
Here is another card for my Open House Display!  I had so much fun making this card using the new Pathfinding Paper from Close To My Heart.  The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches.  I used our new Woodgrain Embossing Folder and Chocolate cardstock to create this fun woodgrain look.  After running it through my cuttlebug, I took a sponge and Chocolate ink and rubbed the ink over the embossing lines.   This gave the wood a more defined look. I used the Thankful Heart  stamp for my sentiment, leaves and pumpkin.  I got to experiment more with our new ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  I love these markers but I need to practice more on the blending and coloring but I was pretty happy with how the pumpkin and leaves turned out for a beginner.  They are really easy to use.   I placed one of the cork pieces with the heart on it from the Pathfinding Assortment pack over the "A" in Heart and added a few Gold Sequins for added embellish...

Brushed with Mojo Monday

Image
To find New Product Blog hop click HERE. I'm hoping to get back up to blogging speed.  I've been so busy lately creating things for my open house and I haven't had a chance to share them all.  I'm getting ready to leave for a much needed vacation this weekend.  I'm determined not to take any 'work' with me although it's tempting!   I've been pretty much spending all my spare time in my craft room lately so I think next week should be family time without inky fingers, scissors and adhesive in my hands! I sneaked in a quick card late last night before I headed off to bed.  I still needed to create about 4 more cards to show off Close To My Heart's new paper packs for my displays so I chose to kill two birds with one stone.   Create something for Mojo Monday and use the new Brushed Paper ! Here is my card!  I always have at least one or two "Love at First Sight" stamps when I get Close To My Heart's new Idea book.  The Rainy Day...

A Big Hug for Freshly Made

Image
A dear friend lost her pet the other day.   He had lived a long and happy life but no matter what the circumstances, it is still very hard when you loose a pet that has been a part of your family for years. Time will ease her pain but until then, she just needs a big hug.   I made this card for her using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and my new ShinHan Touch Twin markers that I received in my new product bundles from Close To My Heart. The base of the card is one of the pieces from the Fundamentals Basic Assortment pack (Z1939). This fun cardstock is an assortment of 20 double-sided 12” x 12” paper sheets (2 each of 10 designs) featuring the same design on both sides, with one side featuring a glossy-resist version of the design The other 2 pieces of cardstock are from the Free To Be Me paper pack that was the special back in May. (here's a little secret..... we'll be adding assortment packs in ALL of the colors beginning in August!) The flower and butt...
