Merry Christmas Eve!

Image
I've been super busy this last week as I'm sure you all are too.   I wanted to make a quick card using the sketch from Retro Sketch before it was too late!  So here is my really quick card I created with mostly washi tape! The stamp is from the Holiday Tags Set (D1560) Retro Sketch #95 I'm also entering this into the Heart 2 Heart Sparkle & Shine Challenge . MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!

A Holiday Kraft Container

Image
Here is another quick Christmas gift idea!  I love Close To My Heart's My Creations Kraft Containers.  These containers come ready for you decorate!  Just add paper and embellishments.  You can even stamp on them.   They are perfect size for small gifts for a teacher, friend, or neighbor!  I think I may fill mine with cookies! I used the Sparkle & Shine (X7176B)  paper and added the Sparkle & Shine Compliments (Z1860)  for an easy finishing touch!  I stamped "Happy Holidays"   Ruby ink using the stamp from the Perfect Fit - Holidays set (B1412) .  I created this container in just minutes on a lunch break one day. Not kidding!  I was working about 5 minutes from home. So at lunch I ran home (well - actually I drove) washed a sink full of dishes (my family thinks if ONE dish is in the sink then the dishwasher MUST be full!), made me a sandwich and ate it and then created this container. I was back to work...

Create a Pocket Album to Keep Your Photo Christmas Cards!

Image
I purchased the My Creations Kraft Pocket Album a few months back not knowing what I would do with it but figured I would think of something!  A few weeks ago, I came across a stack of photo cards that I had bound together with a shiny gold ribbon.   I untied the ribbon to look at the cards.  I had saved every photo card that I had gotten over the last several years.  I never could throw away a photo card!  It just seemed odd to throw someone's carefully planned annual photo in the trash!  So I had kept every last one of them.   It was fun to look through the years to see how much my friends children had grown!  This is when my idea hit me!  I would use the pocket album to store these cards!  A pocket for each family!  There are 18 total pockets in this little album.  Perfect! So I set to work trying to decide how to decorate the front of the album and then I came across Close To My Heart's Video sharing the Pocket Album they...

Celebrate the Season

Image
Many of my favorite Challenges come out on Wednesday through Saturday which means by Saturday when I have more time to spend in my scraproom, I have lots of inspiration to take in there with me!   Over Saturday and Sunday I created several cards using sketches from various challenges.  I'll be sharing those throughout this week. First up is a sketch I used from Freshly Made Sketches .   This was fun, easy and simple!   It's a card that would be easy to mass produce if you are making alot of cards. I used the stripe paper from the Sparkle & Shine paper pack   (X7176B) matting it onto Ruby cardstock squares.  My sentiment is actually from the zip strip from one of the papers in the Sparkle & Shine pack.  I matted this onto Ruby cardstock also.   I covered the dimensional element star with silver washi tape from the Sparkle & Shine Washi Tape 3-pack (Z1907) .  (I LOVE doing this!)   My final touch was a button ti...

Shimmering Santa

Image
One of the new stamp sets in the Holiday Guide is Santa Claus (C1567) .  If you love all things Santa like me, then this adorable stamp is a must have!   I used the sketch from this week's Paper Players challenge to create this card.   The masking technique helps to create a Ruby Santa's cap after stamping Santa in Slate ink. The strip across the front of the card is the zip strip from the Sparkle & Shine Paper pack. Recipe: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 White Daisy Card Sparkle & Shine Paper Pack - X716B Silver Glitter Paper - Z1829 Clear Sparkles  Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel - Z1313 Stamp: Santa Claus - C1567 Ruby Ink - Z2170 Slate Ink - Z2173 Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge Z1686 - <Shape 6> 2 1/4" Santa Claus (C1567) Challenges that I'm entering this card into: Heart 2 Heart - Lots of Layers Sketch #169 - The Paper Players Merry Monday #81 - Santa! I loved the sketch this week at Mojo Monday's and couldn't wait to try it out.  I turned the sketch on its side for a perfect fit of the Yuletide Greetings stamp.   I used a blending pen and Topiary Ink to shade the pine needles and I used Ruby and Topiary Alcohol markers for the bow and holly leaves.   Recipe: 5x7 White Daisy Card Sparkle & Shine Paper (X7176B) Yuletide Greetings (D1553) Red Shimmer Trim (Z1848) Mini Medley Accents Ruby Collection (Button and Twine) (Z1861) Slate Ink (Z2173) Topiary Ink (Z2155) Blending Pen (3174) Ruby Alcohol Marker (Z2429)  Topiary Alcohol Marker (Z2143) Red Glitz Glitter Gel (Z1484) Products used:               Yuletide Greetings D1553    Ruby Mini Medleys (Z1861) Sparkle & Shine Paper Pack (X7176B) Mojo Monday #315 Be sure to check out our new Holiday Gift Guide!
