Wedding Card Overlay

Image
I needed a wedding card so began searching through pinterest because I felt my creativity has been a little strained lately.  I found one that inspired this card I created. I used my Artfully Sent cricut cartridge to create this pretty overlay.   It is from a pocket card but I used the Slice feature in Design Space to cut it down to only the overlay portion.  (I really really love my Explore and using Design Space!).  I found some retired silver ribbon to put behind the overlay.  There are 3 layers of White Daisy Cardstock on this card!  I used the Thin foam tape around the frame of the overlay to pop it up a little bit.  For my sentiment, I cut out a fancy shape from the Artiste cricut cartridge making it large enough to fit my "happy wedding day" stamp.  This an M size stamp so it is just $2.95!  (Wedding Day - M1122) I heat embossed the sentiment in silver. Simple yet elegant. Just a reminder!!  BOTH the Artfully ...

Wedding Card for Just Us Girls

Image
Wedding cards are something that I don't need too much.  When I did need one, I never really had a stamp that was geared towards getting married.   Problem solved with the new 2013 Spring Summer Idea Book from Close To My Heart!  I have a beautiful new stamp - The Happy Couple (D1539) that I couldn't wait to use!  Even though I don't know anyone getting married right now I created a card yesterday.  Now, I will have a card ready the next time I need one. I used the sketch from Just Us Girls this week to create this card. I used a piece of black glitter paper from the new Black and Grey Glitter paper (Z1829) for my background on this 5x7 card.  The cake and "Congratulations" are from The Happy Couple stamp set (shown right).  I trimmed each layer of cake with a tiny strip of black glitter paper.    The third new product I used is the For Always Textiles (Z1820).    These textiles coordinate with the For Always (...

Silver Embossed Wedding Card

Image
I needed to created a wedding card for my daughter's friend.  Using the sketch from Pals Paper Arts this week and my Card Word Puzzle (C1494)  stamp, I created this silver embossed card.   I randomly stamped the flower using Versa Mark ink on to a piece of White Daisy cardstock.   Then I embossed the flowers with Silver Embossing Powder.   I stamped and embossed three more flowers that I would cut out separately.  You can't really see on the picture below but the lower flower on the right is 'popped' out using the flowers I cut out and layered. Here is a closer look at my layered flower.  It gives a little bit of dimension to the card. Since I didn't have any silver ribbon to use for this card, I pulled out my Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon (Z1732) .  I love this ribbon because I can get any color I need just by sponging the ink onto the ribbon.  Viola! I have silver ribbon!  I used Grey Wool ink (Z2125) to get ...

Back to Challenges!

Image
It has been a LONG time since I've done any challenges.  I was anxious to get back to them but I really wanted some of my new products to use.  I needed to make a wedding card and didn't have time to wait for new product so I headed to my existing stuff to see what I had.   Well nothing could be more perfect than Bliss!   First challenge for me this week - Pals Paper Arts .    This week it is a design sketch and that was exactly what I needed to get me started on my wedding card. Here is the sketch: And my card! I used Bliss Paper (X7132) with the Irresistables Villa Chipboard Die-Cuts (Z1390).  Both of these products will retire July 31 so order this week if you want to get them before they are gone! I LOVE the Irresistables!   The are so easy to add color and the resist part 'shines' through.  I used Sorbet ink for my splash of color.  I used Bamboo ink on the key to give it a 'gold' look.   The ribbon is from the Mistl...

Wedding Week at Pals Paper Arts

Image
This week's challenge over at Pals Paper Arts is to create anything for a wedding.  A card, invitation, place card or even a wedding favor.  I created this wedding card for a friend whose son was getting married.   We had a gift card to include so I made the card with a spine inside to hold the gift card in place when they opened the card.  For the card, I used the retired Close To My Heart Creative Basic Veranda Collection. The creme brulee ribbon was included with the Veranda Collection.   The stamp set I used for the Hearts  and the "side by SIDE" sentiment is still available.   It is from the Soul Mates Word Puzzle (D1254).    I used Juniper and Olive ink for the Hearts.   The metal accents are from the Mini-Medley Accents Antiqued Copper Collection (Z1275).
