Variety of Cards with Dotty For You

Image
It's been Wednesday since I've posted anything.  Of all time to come down with a nasty cold, it had to be now.  UGH... I haven't felt like doing much but had to force myself anyway.  I had to finish up a few shopping items Friday and Saturday.  I sure haven't felt like crafting either and I've got plenty that I need to do!  I've got this VERY CUTE Whooo's Your Valentine Kit just waiting waiting for my to play with but I haven't got the mojo for it right now. This past week I've shared a couple of cards from a set of All Occasion cards I made for a gift.  Here are a few more.   These cards were so fun to make. I used some left over Dotty For You paper (a paper pack from our past National Scrapbooking Month special) and this fun little PUN FUN (C1505) stamp set.                                                 ...

A Belated Birthday Card

Image
Here is another Dotty For You and Pun Fun card for my gift set I made! This Pun Fun stamp set is so adorable! It has 6 stamps with a sentiment attached.                       I cut my sentiment apart from my stamp (YIKES!)  But that's OK, you can do that!  By doing so, I was able to place "Happy Belated Birthday" in a curved position on my stamp.   See the picture above. I stamped my turtle onto Sweet Leaf cardstock and again on the Sweet Leaf Dotty For You Paper.  I cut out the dotted portion of the turtle and glued it to the Sweet Leaf cardstock turtle. Next, I added Stardust Gitz Glitter Gel to his birthday hat! Recipe: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" White Daisy Card Dotty For You Paper (Retired) Pun Fun Stamp - C1505 Black Cardstock - 1386 Buttons - Mini Medley Accents Black Collection Z1393 Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel - Z1313 I'm entering this card into the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge . ...

A Birthday Card for a New Challenge!

Image
I was so excited this morning to learn about a new challenge blog - Seize the Birthday . The challenge is all about birthday cards!  Now that I'm finished making Christmas cards for a while, I really need to get on top of my birthday cards and this challenge will help! I just finished making a couple of birthday cards as part of a card set that I'm giving as a Christmas gift.  I went through my stash of paper looking for some bright and cheerful paper and came accross Close To My Heart's special paper - Dotty For You.   This was a special paper during National Scrapbooking Month this past year and it was so popular.  Right before the special ended I made sure to grab a couple of extra packs and I'm so glad I did!  It was so hard to pick which card I would share today but I decided on this card: I used sketch #19 from Close To My Heart's Make It From Your Heart Vol. 1 book.  I added a dimensional element and using the Artiste Cricut Cartri...

A Birthday Wish for You!

Image
There were 3 designs from the Dotty For You paper pack that I haven't had a chance to use yet.  On Sunday. I pulled one of those designs to make this card.  I love the design on this paper because it is from one of my favorite stamp sets - Card Word Puzzle (C1494).  The papers in the Dotty For You pack were hand designed by Close To My Heart's artists.  This particular piece was designed using the flower from the Card Word Puzzle stamp.   I used the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge sketch for this card! The only stamping I did on this card was the sentiment! The  Card Word Puzzle  stamp has a variety of words  that you can put together create your own personal sentiment.   I sponged Lagoon ink onto the  Color Ready Seam Binding  Ribbon (Z1732)  so that it would perfectly match my card!   Since this is a Birthday card I'm entering it into Crazy 4 Challenges this week.  They are looking for Birthday Cards...

Dynamic Duo

Close To My Heart's Dotty For You special is winding down!  There are only 10 days left to take advantage of this awesome deal!  I will be sharing more cards this week using this fabulous $5 pack of paper!  (More details on this pack at the end of this post!) I love it when I discover new blog challenges that excite me!  Two that I recently discovered are the new Dynamic Duo Challenge blog and The Paper Players .  Each week Dynamic Duos features two colors to use in a card, layout or other project.   I LOVE the colors for this week.   It's called Black Tie and they used Black and a yellow.                                          Over at the Paper Players the challenge is to create something with Polka Dots!  Here is a card I created that works for both of these challenges. I pulled out my Fashionista (D1504) stamp set that I have ...

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers! I am so thankful for my mom.  She has always been there for me.  She supports everything I do and always encourages me when I'm down. I made a special Mother's Day card for my mom.   She loves to work in her yard (which is BEAUTIFUL BTW) and she loves birds.  I thought that the colors of Buttercup and Juniper, along with the bird made the perfect card for my mom. I used dotted Buttercup paper from the special Dotty For You paper pack.  (This special ends May 31st!)  The bird and vine were cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.   I stamped "Happy" with the Polka Dot Alphabet (D1469) and "Mother's Day" is from a retired set.  The Polka Dot Alphabet stamp is perfect with the dotted paper! I added two resin flowers from the Bouquet Assortment (Z1694). I used the sketch from the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge (#59) and the colors were inspired by a brand new blog challenge - Dynamic Duos ....

Mother's Day Card with Dotty For You

Image
I'm back!  Finally finished with the softball season at school.  Well, almost. I still have a lot of paperwork to do but at least I don't have to spend hours up at the field.   The team had a great season and I'm sort of sad to see it end but I'm ready to get back to a somewhat normal life.   I sat down tonight to see what challenges I've been missing.  This week over at Heart 2 Heart the challenge is to make a Mother's Day card.  That is something I need to get done!  Also, over at the 4 Crafty Chicks , the challenge was to make a card using a stamp for the sentiment only.  So, I incorporated those two challenges along with the sketch from Skipping Stones Sketch #127 . Here is my card!  I used the Dotty For You paper from Close To My Heart. This Buttercup and Grey Wool pattern stripe was a piece I had not used yet. I used CTMH's Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon with Grey Wool ink to match my paper.  I scrunched a piece after ...

Dotty For You Happy Thoughts

Image
I love this week's Mojo Monday sketch !  I've been busy but all I could think about was making a card with this sketch using my Dotty For You paper!  It's a good thing I've got 2 packs of this paper because I just can't get enough of it! Here is this week's Mojo Monday sketch :                                                            I needed to make 2 cards for 2 dear ladies.  First, my grandma, who was so excited to get my card last week. I wanted to send her another one this week to keep her spirits up! The 2nd card is for another dear lady that is the grandmother of my daughter's friend.  She comes to every softball game near and far.  Last weekend as we were leaving a tournament in Alabama, she fell. It was a scary moment for all of us. They called the ambulance to take her to the hospital and as we wai...

Dotty For You Flower!

Image
If you are looking for the Dotty For You Blog Hop,                                          you can find it   HERE. My dear sweet grandma had a minor stroke on Saturday.  My grandma, who is a very fiesty 94 years young (almost 95) has not let that stop her!  The stroke left her with little use of her right arm and left leg (very unusual - but she is not your usual Grandma!).  By Sunday morning she was complaining that "All this deal, test, and stuff was making her miss her breakfast and that she wanted some bacon and eggs and a cup of coffee!”.  She promptly got her breakfast and ate every bit! On Tuesday, she was moved to Rehab but before she left they had her up and walking with a walker! Go GRANDMA!  She'll be walking out of there in a week's time I bet. Here she is with the bask...

Appreciate with Dotty For You!

Image
If you are looking for the Dotty For You Blog Hop,  you can find it HERE. Due to a rained out game tonight I got to come home and spend some time in my craft room!  YIPPEE! I've missed it lately.  Last weekend the high school softball team played in a tournament near the hometown of their coach.  After the games on Friday evening, the coach's parents graciously opened their home to 4 coaches, 19 VERY DIRTY girls AND their parents and prepared a HUGE home cooked meal for everyone.  The team and coaches spent the night there and got to eat breakfast before heading out to their next game early Saturday morning. I wanted to make a card for the team to sign in appreciation for all their hospitality.  I couldn't wait to use this piece of the Dotty For You paper!  The Dotty For You paper is our National Scrapbooking Month special that you can get for only $5 when you purchase $35 in Close To My Heart Products!  Read all about this speci...

Stars Shine Bright Postcard Challenge

Image
The Close To My Heart Convention is coming up in July and takes place in Dallas, Texas.  This will be my third convention.  I love attending convention because the excitement is so electric!  Each convention, I look forward to seeing all my sister consultants that I have formed close bonds with.  There is nothing like it.  I'm so excited about it, I've got a little countdown badge over to the right!  Plus I'll be teaching this year! YEE HAW! - Even MORE excited about that! Corporate sent out postcard reminders to all consultants to remember to sign up for convention.  Then they challenged us to use that postcard to make a layout!  I had pinned mine to my bulletin board and then got busy and forgot all about creating a layout.   Yesterday, another consultant posted her layout (which was awesome by the way) and I started thinking I really should try to do something. Last night I had one of those moments ..... where an idea just comes to...
