May SOTM - Flowers for You Blog Hop

Welcome to our May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. In this blog hop we are featuring Flowers for You. This set includes 14 images! If you arrived here from Lauren's CTMH Craftings Blog you are on the right track. This hop is a big circle. Just look for the next blog link at the bottom of my post. If you are just getting started on the hop, when you get back to me you will know you have completed the circle! If you get lost along the way, you can find the entire list of hoppers HERE

I wanted to try something a little different with this stamp using our Diagonal Stripe Slimline Thin Cut and Slimline card.

To create this card, I cut a piece of White Daisy Cardstock to 3 1/4 x 8 1/4.  I marked the very center of the long edge of the cardstock.  I stamped the border flower image lining up the center flower with my mark. Then I stamped on each side to fill in the rest of the border.

I cut a 2nd piece of White Daisy Cardstock to 3 3/4 x 8 3/4.  Again, I marked the center of the long edge and I stamped again just as I did with the first piece of cardstock - allowing 1/4' between the edge of the cardstock and the stamping.  Placing the Diagonal Slimline Thin Cut to the center of this stamped piece, I then ran it through my die-cutting machine.  I used this thin cut again with Black Cardstock and trimmed all the diagonal strips to create a frame.

I was able to stamp Happy Birthday onto the Diagonal strips.  I added foam top to several of the strips and around the frame.  Next, I just lined it up and attached it all to the card!  It actually creates a pretty cool looking card when you see it in person!

This card is very simple so it didn't take a lot of product to create - just Patience!

  2. That is such a unique and crazy cool effect on a card! I love that you left it minimal to really get the double layers to pop like that. Thank you for the inspiration! (Aggie from Arrows of Hope Designs - Google won't let me sign in to comment from my profile) :)
