Congratulations with Freshly Made Sketches

Image
I just returned from vacation to a long list of "To Do's".  First up on the list was to create a card for my niece's baby shower that was today.   Since I was helping to give the shower, I had done alot of the things needed before I left for vacation and I left the last thing - the card for the gift for last.  So I got up early and created the card before I left for church this morning.  First, I'll share the card I created and then I'll share some of the other things I created for the shower too! I looked to Freshly Made Sketches to get me going.  I can always count on their sketches for a great starting point.   My niece is decorating the baby's room in an airplane theme so we decided to carry that theme out in the baby shower.  So, of course, my card was an airplane theme also. I used the Chevron Embossing Folder with the Whisper cardstock for the background.   The striped piece is the Outdoor Denim from our new Paper Fundamental...

Celebrate 30! - Happy Birthday with Accessory Coordinates Collection

Image
June marks the 30 year anniversary for Jeanette Lynton's presence in the Stamping and Scrapbooking Industry. Close To My Heart is celebrating by offering 6 different awesome gift collections for just $30 each when you purchase $50 in Close To My Heart products.   Each collection has a retail value of $50 - $65!  What a fabulous deal! Over the next few weeks I'm going to be sharing things that I'm creating with the products from these collections.   If you missed my card I created with the Delightful Ribbons and Trims collection, you can see it HERE. Today I created a card using Chantilly compliments, Chantilly assortments and Black Stripe Grosgrain ribbon from the Accessory Coordinates Collection .   If you are familiar with Close To My Heart products, then you know that each of the compliments and assortments had coordinating paper packs that matched perfectly.  Those paper packs have been retired and are now unavailable but you don't HAVE to have the paper...

Pink Glitter Hearts.....

Image
Happy Valentines Day! I don't make alot of Valentine cards but I have some new Pink Glitter paper from Close To My Heart that I thought would make a pretty Valentines Card!   Oh yeah and have I mentioned my new embossing folders?   You bet!  I had to incorporate that into my card too! Freshly Made Sketches had the perfect sketch! The Pink Glitter paper comes in 3 different shades of pink.  I used two of them here.  I cut the hearts on my Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge at 1" and 3/4".  I stamped the sentiment in Slate Ink. The sentiment is from the Valentine's themed stamp that was our National Papercrafting Month Special in 2013.  It's a cute little stamp and I just had to hang onto it!    The twine is from the Ruby Mini Medley Accent collection.  I love the silver thread that runs through it! Here are the Close To My Heart Products I used: Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge - Z1686 I'm entering this c...

Embossing is the Boss!

Image
Close To My Heart has five new embossing folders!  I was so excited when I learned that CTMH would now be selling these.  I couldn't wait to order mine and start using them.   Here is a card I created using the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. I used the Damask (Z1927) folder with the Blush cardstock and the Stripe (Z1960) folder with Sweet Leaf.   I ran the cardstock through my Cuttlebug going against the grain to get the white center of the cardstock to show through.  The stamp is new for Spring and is Joyful Wishes (A1152) .  I stamped it in Desert Sand and then used alcohol markers to color.   I also stamped the image in Blush ink and cut out words "JOY", "LOVE" and "DO" and adhered them on top of the same image.  I also colored and cut out two of the larger flowers and adhered on top of the same flowers.   Bitty Sparkles and Hemp Bakers Twine accent the card. Here is the Freshly Made Sketch : Get an Em...

Merry Christmas Background Card

Image
I combined challenges to make this card today using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the Technique Challenge from Just Us Girls . I think it is quite a busy card myself but I still kind of like it.   I used Ruby and Topiary Inks for Merry Christmas.   The stamp is from Holiday Tags which also includes 4 frames - one I used here. The frames in this stamp set all coordinate with the Artiste Cricut Cartridge . Recipe: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 White Daisy Card Green Glitter Paper - Z1847 Holiday Tags - D1560 Ruby Chevron Ribbon - Z1846 Ruby Ink - Z2170 Topiary Ink - Z2155 Artiste Cricut Cartridge Freshly Made Sketches Just Us Girls

Celebrate the Season

Many of my favorite Challenges come out on Wednesday through Saturday which means by Saturday when I have more time to spend in my scraproom, I have lots of inspiration to take in there with me!   Over Saturday and Sunday I created several cards using sketches from various challenges.  I'll be sharing those throughout this week. First up is a sketch I used from Freshly Made Sketches .   This was fun, easy and simple!   It's a card that would be easy to mass produce if you are making alot of cards. I used the stripe paper from the Sparkle & Shine paper pack   (X7176B) matting it onto Ruby cardstock squares.  My sentiment is actually from the zip strip from one of the papers in the Sparkle & Shine pack.  I matted this onto Ruby cardstock also.   I covered the dimensional element star with silver washi tape from the Sparkle & Shine Washi Tape 3-pack (Z1907) .  (I LOVE doing this!)   My final touch was a button ti...

A Fun Washi Ho Ho Ho

Image
Just a quick stop in to post this fun card I created.   Washi Tape is so much fun!   I created this really quick card using mostly washi tape in my design and the fun M-size Santa's Greeting stamp.     Recipe: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 White Daisy Card - Value Pack - X1410 Ruby Cardstock (X5927) White Daisy Cardstock (1385) Sparkle & Shine Washi Tape Collection (Z1907) Santa's Greeting (M1028) Ruby Alcohol Maker (Z2429) Black Ink (Z2105) Cranberry Baker's Twin - Harvest Assortment (Z1751) I love the Sparkle & Shine Washi Tape!  With 15 yards per rolls - that's right 15 yards PER ROLL! you can crank out alot of cards in just minutes!  Add Santa's Greeting and you're done! You can find the Sparkle & Shine Washi Tape and other great products in our Holiday Gift Guide or on my Website at www.stampinheaven.ctmh.com . The Freshly Make Sketches Challenge #109  inspired my sketch although I varied the center just a bi...

Age is just a number...

Do you remember the first stamp you bought?  I do, and I still have it!  It actually wasn't the first stamp I ever bought but it was the first Close To My Heart stamp I bought!  I had just joined Close To My Heart as a consultant and the new 2006 Summer Idea Books had come out.   This stamp immediately caught my eye.  I couldn't wait to get it!   The name of this stamp is Do Nothing .  This set was exactly what I wanted to be doing - sitting in the sun and reading a book.  It was so me.  (Although who has time to do this anymore?!) Every year when I go through my stamps to purge used stamp sets to put in my Clearance stash, I always pull this one out and put it back.  It is one that I will always keep - even if I don't use it much. I needed to make another Birthday card and I wanted to use the Surf's Up paper (or what I have left of it!) for a July Birthday card.  Then I remembered this stamp - PERFECT!   So I set to work ...

Summer Vacation is Here!

Image
School is out so I thought I would create a fun card that reminds me of the beach.  Somewhere I long to go but not sure when I'll get there. The colors in my card were inspired by the colors from this week's Color Throwdown .  I used Close To My Hearts colors of Honey, Sky, Cotton Candy and Slate.  (Boy - don't those color names just make you THINK summer?!)  My card design is from Freshly Made Sketches #88 .  The stamp set used is Tropical Paradise (C1531).   I just love those surf boards! I used cardstock from the Dream Pop Paper Pack.  This is last week that you can get the Dream Pop paper pack and I think there is still a smidgen left in inventory so you'd better hurry!   I've had so much fun this past month creating with this paper pack!  I hope you've enjoyed my creations!  You can always find more inspiration on my Pinterest Dream Pop Board .  I've collected great works all art from many other consultants so be sure...

A Dream Pop Birthday Card

Image
Here is a quick card I made with the Dream Pop paper using the Freshly Made Sketch #87 . One reason this card was so easy is because I used this piece from the Dream Pop paper pack: The strip down the side of the paper gave me exactly what I needed!  The other portion of the paper provides a nice background for the card. I just love the Honey and Slate colors together.   I stamped a flower from Girls Rock  stamp set onto  coordinating flowers I cut from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge .   I added slate buttons and Creme Brulee Bakers Twine.   Recipe for 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Card: Dream Pop Paper Girls Rock (C1538) Joyful Birthday (B1419) Mini Medley's Accents Slate Collection (Z1787) Baker's Twine Paradise Assortment (Z1702) This National Scrapbooking Special Dream Pop paper pack won't last long!  Inventory supply is showing just 24% today!  If you haven't ordered yours, be quick!  Get it today before it's gone...

Congrats with Dream Pop

What a busy time of the year it is for me!  Graduation is coming up soon - May 18 to be exact.  Plus, in the midst of getting ready for that, we are in the middle of the High School District Softball tournament!  Rain came in Friday night and set in for the weekend so the games were cancelled on Saturday.  My first thought was "YEAH!  I'll spend all day Saturday in my scrap room and create! Nothing better to do on a rainy day!".  Or so I thought....  I ended up spending ALL DAY Saturday shopping with my daughter looking for the required "dark dress" that she needed to wear underneath her graduation gown.  So, we set out about 10:30 to look for a black dress.  Finding a black dress (or even a dark color dress) in May is not easy!   Most that we did find, looked better on the hanger than actually on!  Too long, too short, etc.  FINALLY about 3:30 that afternoon we found the dress.  By the time I got home, I was no longer in ...
